And why get mad at me? I think my behaviour was rational enough. I didn't simply buy into it, in fact I asked for proof, and you must say that there were indeed some similarities in the way you write. The age thing, even with what you just said now was very strange.
The truth is, I don't know you, and even though I might sympathize with you, and other people here too, you might well be some crazy serial killer who rapes little boys or whatever. Hell, I hardly trust people I do know. So don't take it personaly. Certainly nothing to get angered about.

I'm upset because I don't like to have my name dragged through the mud on false information. And of course it will do damage to me because it will be used against me in the future. People who dislike me won't care if it's true or not. It's called slander/libel, and it's a serious issue. Now, I won't kill drooperdoo, I never said that, but I would give him a serious ass kicking. I simply said the last time I was this angry things got out of hand. I was 12 years old by the way. I've never attacked anyone as an adult, but I wouldn't mind meeting drooperdoo in a dark alley.

I won't be as pissed by tomorrow. I'm the type of person who gets very angry at the moment, but after some time it goes away. Perhaps I did over react as Miguel has said. I'll know for sure when I look at the posts tomorrow when I've calmed down.

I know I may have come off as ignorant in this thread, which I hate to sound like but there is truth to my statement in one regard. When I was in middle school, say 6th grade we get sent off to camp for a weekend. Now that I think about I was ignorant to how ill-nature the event was itself, but it happened regardless.

One of the days at camp, we are kept out all night.. at first we didn't know what for but we were put infront of the teacher's acting as the slave traders. We were treated just as such, sold to someone then the night began. We were verbally abused, like slaves. We couldn't keep eye contact with anyone, and insulted. We acted as such, had to hide to avoid persecution of the owners and such.

We were thrown under floorboards for atleast 10 minutes at one point, crowded and such. We eventually made our rounds and were free. But if you think about it, as impressionable as young kids are it could damage a kids psyche if he were to think he actually committed the atrocity, which I think was the whole point of the thing.

The mother of a black Appleton teenager said Friday that a slave trade re-enactment at her daughter's school in which students were poked, prodded and referred to as "boy" and "mammy" was "gross and offensive."

Loretha Dempsey said students in her daughter's history class were assigned to act the roles of slaves and slave buyers at an auction. Students were given tip sheets that told them how they should be acting in their assigned roles, she said.

The tips instructed students who were designated as "slaves" to "allow yourself to be examined, patted, prodded or poked." Students who were the "buyers" were encouraged to "be sure to check the slave's hair for lice. Open the mouth and look at their teeth and gums." "I'm not against them teaching this, but the way they are doing it is offensive," said Dempsey, whose eighth-grade daughter is the only black student in the class at Appleton's Madison Middle School. "It was gross." School officials Friday acknowledged the situation could have been better handled, but emphasized that the teacher's intentions were to show how poorly slaves were treated. "It was an American history class, and the teacher was teaching the pre-Civil War era and discussing slavery," said Principal Frederick Ginocchio. "They were talking about how degrading and awful slavery was." Ginocchio said he talked to Loretha Dempsey about it after she had a chance to observe the slave trade re-enactment. "By the time I talked to the teacher, he regretted it," he said. "Maybe in hindsight he could have pulled her aside and asked her how she would feel about it." Among the role-playing tips that Dempsey said she and her daughter found particularly disturbing: Students designated as slaves should "allow yourself to be examined, patted, prodded or poked." The tip sheet indicated the teacher would assure that any touching would be done in an inoffensive manner. Slave buyers should "be sure to check the slave's hair for lice. Open the mouth and look at their teeth and gums. Pull back the eyelids and scrutinize the eyes. Give them a vision test and hearing test." Slave buyers should "call male slaves `boy.' Female slaves will be called `woman, wench or mammy.' " Dempsey said she found that tip to be the most offensive. Male slaves should show that they are able to perform hard labor; female slaves should show that they can have children. The slave sale simulation was mentioned in a newsletter to students and parents. Dempsey did not voice any concerns until the day it occurred. "It started out as a very innocent thing on the part of the teacher," Ginocchio said. "The purpose was to make people more aware of how humiliating and degrading this was. No one was out to embarrass the student." Dempsey said her daughter was chosen to be a slave owner but refused to take part. On the day of the re-enactment, students who were playing the role of slaves wore signs indicating they were slaves and the slave buyers examined them. "I understand talking about it and showing movies, but why re-enact it?" Dempsey asked. "I asked them if they would re-enact the Holocaust. I don't think they would." Dempsey said her daughter's recent problems with race are the culmination of five years of stress from being a black girl in a predominantly white city. "She has ulcers and the doctor says it is stress-related," Dempsey said.
