Anyone can be a moderator if they want. Initially, I was just going to make everyone who has been a regular a moderator, but it looks odd if you have more 90% of the people posting as moderators. However, anyone who asks to be a moderator will be given a chance by way of polling our "elite masses." I think the best way to come to a decision is whether to person interested in becoming a moderator acquires a certain amount of yes votes. I think 11 votes (assuming the person is voting for himself) is enough to give the go ahead. Berter just needs one more vote, and has 53 hours left. EDIT: Or perhaps we can do it by percentage. 65% of the vote is the lowest you can get. I will discuss this with "the others."

I've been wondering will there be some kind of division so that moderators are designated to moderate certain sections of the forum? Or does everyone just moderate everything?

Berter is now moderator-elec, by Anodyne's method of eleven votes.
But it's going to go by 65%, the polls are still open.

Both methods are going to be used. This is a taste of what we've been working on as guidelines. We'll have the rules up soon.
2) Any member of the forum may become an admin/mod. Members of the forum will be allowed to vote on whether they will accept the applicant as an admim/mod. The applicant must have at least 11 yes votes and 65% of the votes in their favor after 72 hours. They may try once again in four months if they were unable to convince others they are suited to be admin./mod. However, anyone that has been temporarily banned from Pax Humana may not apply.

An hour and thirty minutes left. Please vote if you haven't.
EDIT: Poll is over.
11 yes votes
8 no votes.
Berter has enough yes votes, but falls under 65% of total votes. You can try again in four months, Berter.

Well, to say the truth I never aspired to any hierarchical position neither in this forum nor on the old ones. I knew this place contains a good number of members with whom I had conflictual interactions in the past and thought I had to design a way for prospecting the terrain before making an entry, hence my 'Request' thread. Funny that no one of the people who voted against me dared to say a single word to justify why they did so. I would like finally to thank Anodyne and Funk for all the help and positive reactions.
