Ah, Daddy State is suppose to watch out for us, huh? For our own good? pffttt... The government is not obligated to protect citizens from themselves. Someone should explain to Mr. Kruger that an adult isn't a child.
The fool uses a handful of instances as an excuse to collect money for the city. It's basically legalized government mugging.

If it's like the hands-free cellphone while driving law, it won't be enforced either.

I couldn't agree more. However, I don't see an end to this trend, and laws are seldom erased once they're written. We don't realize we're slowly losing our liberties in much the same way that people don't realize that they're aging or gaining weight. The analogy of the boiling frog applies.
