I think when an adminstrator alters a url it affects any showing of it, whether posted in the forum, or in pm.

I take issuse with him calling me deceitful, considering A) Forrester openly mentioned we were considering it B) Private messages are obviously private between two people, and so what can't be said in a forum cna be said there C) If I post the link in a thread, or had it as a signature, I would have been banned, simply for offering something new, which someone thinks is "wrong."

I don't understand why Gareth is upset. If he has a good product then people will stay. I didn't say to people "Either you pick HBD or Pax Humana." Personally, I don't mind people posting in both. Having choices is good. The other forums that can be considered race forums are basically skadi and stirpes. Both of which have a political agenda. Now HBD doesn't have one that I've noticed, but having an extra forum where everyone (well, people we know for sure won't abuse their power here, which is pretty much everyone has signed up so far) can play a role, if they wish, couldn't hurt. Also, as I've said before, Gareth's adminstration is pretty weak, and he occasioanlly lashes out for the wrong reasons, while saying nothing when something should be said. So this is a nice alternative, me thinks. However, I don't mind people posting in both forums.

Gareth usually announces bannings. I find it interesting he hasn't announced mine. If he did then someone that I hadn't pmed as of yet would ask, "why"? And he's not interested in telling why, because of his fear that people would jump ship for this forum, which isn't a justified fear. This is simply an alternative with a different style where there is no issue with whether someone posts on both boards, or just this one.

Since he was petty enough to come here and complain about people being allowed to have choices, I could create a new account to bother him. However, I don't feel the need to be petty.

I deleted my previous reply, which was written before I read Anodyne's explanation. It's good to know that changing one URL changes all URLs. That assuages our fears of cloak and dagger monkey business. That's assuming that the Patriot Act DOESN'T ALLOW one to read private PMs. ;-)

I noticed Annie posted a link to the board inside an HBF thread. Gareth could easily have happened on to it like that.

umm, I thought you were Amadis. Is it an insult to be confused with someone else? He doesn't like Agrippa, and gets touchy about race forums, so I figured it was him. You're just looking for an excuse. Not that I care. But I do care that you're being sneaky with your words.

I also noticed a sudden change of opinion regarding the question whether a forum should be democratic or not. Anodyne changed his opinion from non-democratic to democratic during the last month. Anodyne wrote that his current promise is real/absolute democracy.

Obviously you don't know what the pronoun "this" means in the context of my statement. Anyway, I don't care if your forum is democratic, or not, as long as it's run competently. I decided to offer something different and see if it took. I know you're not an English speaker, but my responses to you haven't been difficult to understand.

You will see whether there will be exceptions. Forrester often wrote that Crimson Guard spammed Anthroversity. To ban members because of their personality wouldn't be democratic.

errr, no one said Crimson should have been kicked off. What was said was that Crimson ruined the board with his obsession. However, if he wants to post here he's free to do so. I just ask he be sensible. But no one even suggested getting rid of him.

A while ago I requested Galaico to remove a link to Stirpes and he removed it. Objectively speaking it's a not uncommon practice to forbid linking to forums with related topic or even any other website. I remember more than one examples where this was concretely administered by moderators.

Peopel should be allowed to PM each other what they want. That's why it's called PRIVATE messaging.
