Oh boy..the trolling begins... All religions are cults pal... How is it trolling? The catholic Church professes that the Word of God is the only true Scripture but their actions run contra to this. I'm Christian and certainly belong to no cult, everything we do is scriptural.

Christianity as a whole is a cult, what exactly is your point. Christianity as a whole isn't a cult. As long as one lives and abides by the Bible, they are true Christians, not cultists.

As long as one lives and abides by the Bible, they are true Christians, not cultists. nevertheless it is a religion which grew out of a cult, and is based on Judaism(the true religion) and paganism yet contradicts itself

I said Christianity was a cult in my high school religion class. The teacher didn't give me a proper answer. He looked concerned and said, "No." Then went back to what he was doing. He probably thought I was trying to distract the class.

A cult is: a) a system of religious worship or ritual b) a quasi-religious group, often living in a colony, with a charismatic leader who indoctrinates members with unorthodox or extremist views, practices, or beliefs
If going by the first definition, cult is just another word for organized religion. If going by the second, it refers to religions that sprang forth from the mouths of charismatic individuals. But there's also that "unorthodox or extremist views" catch, which as Obi-Wan would say, depends greatly on one's point of view. In the minds of Jews today for instance, Jesus had views that ran counter to the Jewish religion and was definitely a cultist with unorthodox and extremist views, whereas in the Christian's mind, Jesus was the messiah and was fulfilling what was promised in the Old Testament. He did not come to denounce the old laws but "fulfill" them (I can't remember the exact line). Anyway, all open to interpretation.
I think at its heart "cult" is a neutral term, but obviously the word was imbued with a negative connotation at some point. Now it's used basically in reference to very minor groups with strange beliefs that run counter to traditional religions like the Abrahamic ones. Scientology, for instance.
But sometimes it refers to splinter groups within traditional religions that have beliefs considered to be untraditional. Like Freemasons, Mormons, etc.

your right cult is a bad definition as is "heathen" so i will use term 3avoda zara3 those who are AZ are guilty of violating most important law, and thus are "damned" those who arent AZ even if they arent Jews have a place in l'3olaam habaa (the world to come)
3avoda zara3 Not 3avoda Zara3 Hinduism Judaism Buddhism(most sects) Islaam Christianity (most sects, except those that reject trinitarianism) messianic Lubavitchers
Religions that im not sure about Sikhism Reform "judaism"

lol... ol' Yigal. Now I'm curious... what's 3avoid zara3 translate to? Seems like the one's that aren't AZ are the ones that are, from your point of view, undoubtedly monotheistic. Does this include Zoroastrians?

Does this include Zoroastrians? AZ translates litteraly as "strange worship/work" but it means much more, Monotheism doesnt mean for sure its not AZ (which why im not sure if Sikhism is) because after all you can be a monotheist and worship the WRONG g0d you know

It's a branch of Christianity just like Protestant and Orthodox are. Most Christians don't classify Catholics as cultists. I'm sure Jack Chick would agree with you, though. Maybe you gave some of his tracts to the heathens.
