Probably would feel no different. Just have to put up with more bigots. But if I were black, I'd relish in proving myself smarter than the racists by proving my intelligence while viciously disproving stereotypes that automatically associate a person's race with behavior. It's kind of an opportunity that I would delight in if God ever gave it to me. But alas, I'm just a no-assed white boy.

Speaking only for myself as a black man . . . I feel hemmed in, trapped, claustrophobic. I want to disprove all the white man's stereotypes, but hey, let's face it: that can be self-conscious and annoying, too. How many of us have heard the black kid at a party with watermelon pipe up insincerely and say, "I never really liked watermelon!" Lies! Like all the whites, he loves the sweet fruit--but feels constrained by stereotypes, so he abstains. It's limiting. Like when I play sports with white friends and am embarrassed by my superior physical prowess and sub-Saharan musculature; so, not to make it evident, I throw games . . . let the others win. Or when I consciously complain about my penis-size--just so I can fit in [even though I know I'm well-endowed]. It's a horrible, horrible life, living as a minority in someone else's country. I know, I know what you'll all say: I'm not really a black man. You've seen pictures of me. But those were pictures after I straightened my hair, artificially lightened my skin and cosmetically thinned my lips.
