I had a conversation with a fellow new joisyian. We concluded from listening to each other that we don't have north jersey accents except for how we pronounce certain words (coffee, quarter, for example). We felt awkward soon after, for some odd reason, and then we went back to our game of RISK. So I suppose I have a very slight Jersey accent. Maybe one day I'll post my voice, just as Yigal did, and see what others say. It's hard to be your own judge, or be judged by a neighbor, with regards to this topic.

You have something similar to a New Yorican blend. Latin undertone, New York accent (shifts btw Italian and Jewish), corrected by education so that if you're careful and practice, you'd sound like inland North. (Chicago). But I think the Latin undertone would remain so you'd sound like that dude from Without a Trace.

New Yorican has many refined, educated tones as well. Alot of it came from kids who went to CUNY. Right away you think The Bronx It's evolved.
