Well, no posts here, so I'll start. Maybe a typical subject from me, but so be it. I've been think about the Lappid type as usual, and I think this woman must be specifically "Lappid", as she's obviously European, but got some specific features - that does not seem Mongoloid at all, but rather specifically Lappish Europid. (She is, of course, a real Sámi)Agree?

What really sets Lappids apart from East Baltids?
And by the way, this particular sub-forum has just been created, therefore no posts yet!

Ok, so that's why Anyway, I'm not really sure what the difference really is. Maybe it's the East-baltid's that's not always rightly classified. They're usually shown as depigmented, but this one's not.

Quite a lot it would seem:- "Classification of the Saami mtDNA lineages revealed that the absolute majority of these are clustered in a subset of the European mtDNA pool" "The Y-chromosomal haplogroups N3 and R1a, which make up ¡60% of the Saami Y-chromosomal variants, have likely reached Fennoscandia from eastern Europe (fig. 4B), where these haplogroups can be found in high frequencies, as among the Saami. Haplogroups I and R1b, which together make up a third of Saami Y chromosomes, seem to have arisen in western Europe" forum.stirpes.net/genetics-human-microbiology/8161-western-eastern-roots-saami.htmlYou'll find the Gripp in full spate. The young lady pictured is rather cute, I have seen such faces in Britland but not a lot.

Heh. I had an argument with the Gripp based on U5 founder effect among Saami. That the basis of Saami is a localized ancient European population, specific to the area, and that the genetic distancing between other European populations is based on bottlenecks in localized UP Y haplogroups. Despite his insistance on phenotypical admixture, if we're going to play borealization games we start with Europids. The idea of kidnapped Lapps showing up in Grenoble seems a bit more far fetched than dealing with the breadth of human plasticity and indigeneity. Lapps are very local.

Maybe she does have the same overall face shape, but her features are different - short concave nose, pale skin (compared to you - if you're Yigal?) And she have eyes not deep set, and thin eyebrows.

Maybe, but I doubt they're like yours. Judging by all the Sámi pictures posted before, they generally seem thin and often weak, and set sorta high on the head. There's exception, of course, there always are. But I cannot know for sure... The nose definitely looks the part. I don't really think so, there's some similarity, but she does just have a short broad nose, not as baby like as the girl I posted. She does look a little unusual, not like any Turks I've seen?

To be clear, I wasn't talking about a similarity to your girl.
